Back End Developer

Contagious Solutions is hiring a Back End Developer to join our team of talented designers, developers, and engineers as they work on a Case Management solution for OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). These tools are used nationwide and interface with many IT systems maintained by other government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development and engineering of REST and SOAP web services.
• Responsible for coding and documenting quality code using best practices, such as unit test integration.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Docker and Jenkins.
• Responsible for troubleshooting system issues related to software applications.
• Responsible for providing updates in daily Agile Scrums, providing demonstrations of code and contributing to the Agile team wherever required.

Required Experience

• 6-8 years of overall development experience.
• 5-7 years of back-end experience using Java programming language.
• 3-5 years of experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Strong working knowledge of REST services environment, and formats such as RESTful APIs, and JSON.
• Must understand cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Must understand asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.

Desired Experience

• Experience with 508 compliant applications is a plus.
• Working knowledge of management/tracking utilities such as JIRA is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications or work experience required.

Must be authorized to work in the US.
