UX / UI Designer

Contagious Solutions is seeking a UX/UI designer to join our team in modernizing the design of a highly visible and widely used web application for a government agency. You will be a senior member of the design team on a large project with multiple development teams that will rely on your expertise and design decisions.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of UX/UI experience, with a strong portfolio of responsive website applications.
• Experience designing with a mobile-first approach.
• A solid understanding of Human Centered Design.
• Expertise with modern design tools such as Sketch, Adobe CS and InVision.
• Be able to present your designs and effectively communicate ideas and concepts.
• Be able to gather business requirements from product owners, develop intuitive wireframes, and know when to take them to high fidelity finished designs.
• Be able to work independently, meet deadlines and be proactive.
• Experience working in an agile environment with tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with creating branding, logos, and illustrations (e.g. icons) are a plus.
• Be organized with your folder structures, versions, and design files.
• Thrive in a highly collaborative, fluid, fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with 508 compliance, WCAG 2.1, and accessibility requirements.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications or work experience required. Office is located in Reston, VA. Possible remote work opportunities depending on client needs.

Must be able to get public trust security clearance.
